Remember when I said picking wedding colors can be both incredibly exciting and (and a bit stressful)? Still true.
Warm golds, deep burgundies, rich greens...I mean, come on! But with so many gorgeous shades to choose from, picking your exact color combos can get overwhelming.
So I did the hard part for you! I’ve pulled together some beautiful fall wedding color combos you're going to want to screenshot, save, pin, and probably send to everyone in your bridal party immediately.
Don't say I didn't warn you!
1. Burnt Umber & Lavender – Autumn Garden
Burnt Umber #8A3324 | Lavender #B497BD | Soft White #FAF9F6
Having the word “burnt” in a color doesn’t sound all that appealing, but the color is so rich! Burnt umber brings this deep, toasted warmth, kind of like the rich leaves falling right at the peak of the season. And lavender softens it, giving the color combo a nice romantic twist.
And it works in so many settings. Garden venues, courtyards, barns with big open doors, these colors have some range.
How to style
For your stationery, try soft white card stock with lavender floral watercolors and burnt umber calligraphy. Then style your bridesmaids in lavender gowns and have them carry bouquets with burnt umber dahlias, lavender roses, white anemones, and eucalyptus.
For the reception, go with soft white table linens, sprigs of lavender, and burnt umber napkins. Terracotta bud vases with lavender sprigs and copper accents bring it all together beautifully.
2. Oxblood & Sage - Fireside Elegance
Oxblood #4A0404 | Sage #9CAF88 | Champagne #F7E7CE
Again, don’t judge the names! Oxblood is like a fine glass of red wine by the fire, and sage balances it with organic softness. Champagne ties them together so well. Moody and elegant, all great color choices for a fall wedding!
How to style
For your invitations, opt for champagne card stock with oxblood letterpress and sage botanical illustrations. Your bridal party can wear sage gowns and hold bouquets of deep red dahlias, burgundy ranunculus, champagne roses, and trailing greenery. Absolutely breathtaking!
For your reception tables, go with champagne linens, oxblood velvet napkins, and sage greenery runners. Dark candles in brass holders and moody floral arrangements in ceramic vessels will complete the look.
3. Caramel & Slate Blue - Warm Twilight
Caramel #C68E3F | Slate Blue #6A7B8B | Ivory #FFFFF0
Mmmm, did someone say caramel? Caramel brings in the warmth of autumn and slate blue cools it down with this sophisticated, twilight-hour kind of feel.
And it's surprisingly versatile! Industrial lofts, outdoor tents, historic venues…this combo can be used in any of them.
How to style
Set up a wooden arch draped with sheer ivory fabric, dried pampas grass, caramel-toned roses, and some eucalyptus. Line the aisle with slate blue petals and amber glass lanterns.
Put the groom in a warm tan or caramel-toned suit with a slate blue tie. Groomsmen could wear slate blue suits with caramel leather belts and shoes. Boutonnieres can have a single caramel rose, a sprig of dried grass, and a blue thistle.
4. Persimmon & Chocolate – Orchard Glow
Persimmon #EC5800 | Chocolate #3C1414 | Cream #FFF8E7
Oh this one is FUN! Persimmon makes me think of the vibrancy of fall. And chocolate, who can resist? Together it's like an evening harvest dinner under string lights at an apple orchard. I love it!
Farmhouse venues, orchards, rustic estates, this combo was made for autumn celebrations.
How to style
Go with a rustic buttercream cake in cream, with chocolate ganache drip and fresh persimmon dahlias cascading down one side. Fill your dessert spread with chocolate truffles, persimmon tartlets, caramel apples, and mini pumpkin pies. Display everything on a farmhouse table with wooden cutting boards and copper trays.
Send guests home with mini jars of apple butter or spiced honey, wrapped in cream muslin with a chocolate brown tag and persimmon twine. For the send-off, do a dried autumn leaf toss or sparklers tucked into mini bundles of cinnamon sticks.
5. Dusty Plum & Wheat – Gentle Harvest
Dusty Plum #8E4585 | Wheat #D4B896 | Linen #F5F0E8
Dusty plum reminds me of that in-between time of the last light before dusk, and wheat is like golden fields of late harvest. The air is starting to get cool, but the sun's still hanging on.
C’mon, doesn't that sound like the ideal backdrop to say “I do” to?
How to style
Style your groom in a warm taupe or soft grey suit with a dusty plum tie and a wheat stalk boutonniere. Groomsmen could wear lighter tan or oatmeal suits with plum pocket squares and leather shoes.
As for your signage, use natural wood or linen-wrapped boards with dusty plum hand-lettering for your welcome sign, seating chart, and table numbers.
6. Mahogany & Peach – Vintage Warmth
Mahogany #6E3B2A | Peach #FFCBA4 | Soft White #FAF9F6
Talk about timeless. Mahogany’s like old leather or worn wood that’s been there a while (in a good way)! Peach lightens it up with this sweet, sun-kissed softness. Together they’re like a vintage love letter for your wedding.
How to style
For signage, use vintage wooden frames or antique mirrors with mahogany calligraphy and peach accents. For welcome signs, seating charts, and bar menus, use mismatched frames for that collected-over-time vibe.
Set up a lounge area with leather chairs or a vintage settee, soft white throw pillows, and peach blankets. Scatter old books, amber glass votives, and small peach floral arrangements on wooden side tables.
7. Bronze & Hunter Green – Woodland Estate
Bronze #A67B50 | Hunter Green #355E3B | Ivory #FFFFF0
If the forest could throw a wedding, it would use these colors! Hunter green is deep and lush, bronze adds a warm metallic glow, and ivory makes it elegant. It's so regal, almost like you’re stepping into an enchanted woodland estate. So beautiful!
How to style
Set up a cocktail hour lounge with deep green velvet chairs, ivory throw pillows, and bronze accent tables. Add small fern arrangements in bronze vessels.
For your bouquet, mix ivory peonies, ranunculus, and anemones with lush fern fronds, trailing ivy, and bronze-painted leaves tucked throughout. Wrap the stems in hunter green silk ribbon with bronze pins.
